Executive Committee Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 10:00am

 

Attendance:

B. Addis, B. Folsom, C. Hay, J. Levinson, J. Armstrong, J. Siemion

 

General Discussions: (action items)

 

·         Clarksville – Issues came up after visit with the owners.  They are looking to split the property in half (not what we originally thought).  Need to mark the back property line at the halfway point for them. Bob Addis to mark this.

·         NRO – discussion on NRO issues – coming together.

·         South Bethlehem – Bill Folsom sent correspondence to lawyer stating that the NSS could hold the $1 million insurance policy – no response as of yet.

·         ANC – cave is closed now for at least couple of years – family wants to do farming.

·         Ella Armstrong – Bob Addis to call real estate agent for offer.

·         Westfalls – had to be dug out again this year, revisited the culvert issue from past meeting (60’ culvert – NCC to reimburse BZ 50% up to $200) Jason Siemion to work on this.

·         Booth – still looking into prices – trying better price through my company, might end up building one, Christa Hay to contact Mike Chu for photos for booth.

·         Brochure – need new cover photo – one of our caves – Christa Hay to send out to discussion group asking for photos to be sent in and contest to pick the one for the cover.

·         Lee Cave – no forward motion on this, NCC was to help NJ with the management issues – no response from NJ.

·         Changing station – Vince Kappler will put up changing station at Onesquethaw during NRO.

·         Taxes – Joe Levinson is working on taxes – due by May 15th, 2003.

·         Schoharie Cabin – clean up will be same day of the next meeting – Joe Armstrong is organizing, BBQ to follow, Bob Addis & Christa Hay to bring garbage bags and work gloves (from previous donation from Allegheny Power – Aaron Jarvis)  Joe Armstrong has talked with the local land owners for the sinkhole cleanup- some are Ok with it – others are worried about legal issues if we find anything that is bad (polluted).  Issues also came up with what to do with some of the garbage – tires, paint cans etc.

·         Trustee positions that are up for election – Jon Allison, Craig Cantello, Tom Rider – would like them all to run again.

·         Kara U. at Howe Caverns was asked if she or others – possibility of Jeff DeGraff,  from Howe Caverns would like to run for a position on the board.  Bill Folsom will send them information.

 

Meeting ended at 11:30 ish…..

 

Rest of the time the booth was set up for the Howe Caverns earth days (Tom Rider –Chair).   Somewhat low attendance but good for us to attend.
