Bentleys Cave preserve

On November 25th, 2009 the NCC completed the final step towards owning Bentleys Cave!

Many thanks go to the Bentleys for their gracious donation, Mike Bourgeois providing a professional land survey at no cost, and all the other volunteers that helped throughout the process.

Future plans include obtaining tax-exempt status, working out a conservation easement with the Rensselaer Land Trust, posting the property boundaries and marking the trail, constructing a perimeter trail, and work on the parking area and kiosk--stay tuned for more information as the spring and summer months near.

The preserve consists of ~5.5 acres and contains two caves: Bentley's Cavern and Dry Valley Cavern.
